Health care tips for work life, just change your posture to 'this way' and you're done!

Workplace health management tips are a hot topic. As a result of a survey conducted by market research firm Macromill Embrain on their New Year's plans for 500 office workers from the 24th to the 26th of last month, 34.9% answered that they would take care of their health. Office workers who spend most of their day sitting in the office can maintain their health and improve work efficiency by correcting their sitting posture and habits in the office. Find out how to take care of your health at work.

First, if you use a back cushion when sitting in a chair, you can keep your spine healthy. Sitting at a desk for a long time in the same position can put strain on your neck and back. Poor sitting posture has a worse effect on the spine. It is best to sit with your buttocks deep in the chair and your back leaning against the back of the chair. It is effective to maintain the balance of the spine by putting a cushion of an appropriate thickness in the gap between the curved part of the waist and the back of the chair to support the lower back.

Your computer monitor should be at eye level. If you sit and look at the monitor, your neck is naturally drawn forward and it is easy to bend. In particular, if you keep looking at the monitor that does not fit your eye level, it becomes a turtle neck, which puts a lot of strain on the small spine and muscles, which can lead to neck disc and chronic neck pain. It is recommended to adjust the monitor by placing the pedestal so that it is 15 degrees in front when the head is raised directly. It is also important to consciously pull your chin to keep your head straight.

The mouse should be placed as close to the body as possible. This is because if you use a mouse with only your arms stretched out, you may experience pain in your shoulders and back. Place the mouse as close to your body as possible and keep your elbows bent at an angle of 90 to 100 degrees. Using the mouse for a long time causes pain in the wrist and sometimes leads to carpal tunnel syndrome. To prevent this, it is effective to keep the wrist as straight as possible. It is also good to support a small cushion on your wrist.

Sitting on a chair and stretching your neck, shoulders, and back is also a healthy way to manage your work life. Relax, sit comfortably, and slowly rotate your neck from side to side 3 times. Then, grab the left back of the head with the palm of your right hand and pull it 45 degrees to the right and forward for more than 5 seconds, then return it to its original position. In the same way, pull the other side of the neck. For the shoulder muscle, grab the right elbow bent at 90 degrees with the left hand and pull it to the left to release it. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat on the other side. The lower back muscles are stretched in a way that pushes the stomach and lower back forward in a comfortable sitting position in a chair, straightens the spine, and applies force to the lower back for 5 seconds.
